"In her interactions with her adolescent patients Kristen brings a positive energy and responds warmly and appropriately to a population that is known to be resistant to therapeutic interventions of any kind. She has a deep and intuitive understanding of the usefulness of the art therapy modality in the treatment of a wide range of issues. Kristen demonstrates the perseverance, patience and empathy of a valuable therapist."

Contact InformationPlease feel free to email me to discuss how I can support you:
I have experience supporting young people struggling with eating disorders, substance abuse, anxiety, depression, chronic illness, school avoidance and complex care issues. This includes both individual and group sessions at SickKids hospital in Toronto. I bring true warmth and compassion to my practice, and find immense pleasure and value in working in partnership with youth. I also embrace the interprofessional practice model, which recognizes the importance of everyone who is involved in the circle of care. I have worked with physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and child and youth workers to enhance and manage client wellbeing.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, #004791) and a professional member of the Canadian Art Therapy Association (CATA). I have a Master's-level Graduate Diploma in Art Therapy from the Toronto Art Therapy Institute, and a Bachelor of Arts in Ethics, Society and Law, from the University of Toronto. I also have three years of OCAD studies. I have lived in Toronto most of my life and raised two sons with love, humour and deep respect.
Continued professional development is important, and I enjoy seeking new avenues of knowledge and learning. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Theory, Motivational Interviewing, Play Therapy, and traditional Psychotherapy into my practice. I have been able to attend numerous seminars and lectures while at SickKids, and have also benefitted from the wisdom and experience of many wonderful clinicians and colleagues. I strongly believe that all therapists benefit greatly from peer supervision and personal therapy. I routinely engage in both.
